Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

Title: "School Climate Survey"
Description: We survey all students every spring using a 20-item school climate survey. Since we weren't able to administer the survey during the school closure (students are English learners and struggled with all-online schooling), we are showing here the results from the 2018-19 survey. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, the average for all students, all items was 4.11. Detailed information is contained in the attached document.

Title: "Reading Growth"
Description: Our students, of whom 90% are English learners and over 50% have interrupted schooling, struggle more with reading than with other academic skills. We provide literacy supports in every class, and implement two schoolwide reading programs to practice and build skills in fiction and non-fiction reading. We measure progress with the Reading Inventory. Students with low literacy take the Basic Reading test, with possible scores from 0 to 84. Students with basic literacy take the Reading Comprehension test, with scores from 0 to 1600. Expected growth on this test is about 100 points per year, or 34 points per test period of about 4 months. Growth data are shown in the attached document.
