SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

INSTRUCTIONAL FACTORS

Focused Reading Instruction

Through the support of classroom teachers and interventionists, Wasatch students received high-quality, differentiated instruction to meet individual academic needs. We identified that not all kindergarten through third grade students are making Typical or Above Typical Growth as measured on the Acadience reading assessment. We know the importance of early reading skills for overall success in other academic areas. Teachers are participating in LETRS training to better identify gaps in learning and focus on specific skills that need reteaching. Goals for all students are set using diagnostic data, as well as follow up progress monitoring, to ensure students are on target to meet expected end of year benchmark goals.

Arts for All

Wasatch Elementary actively engages students in the creative processes of all the arts—visual, dance, drama and music. Exploring and utilizing connections between arts, academics and life, Wasatch students become complex thinkers, effective communicators, collaborative leaders and life-long learners.
