Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.


Additional Paraprofessional

Land Trust funds allowed us hire an additional paraprofessional to assist students who are performing below the proficiency level.This includes working with students on reading proficiency. Students receive additional assistance in small groups as well as one-on-one, Specific focus include English Language Learners, African-American students and students who are in Resource classes. The paraprofessional collaborates with grade level teachers as well as our literacy coach.Evaluations will include Progress Monitoring, Interims and teacher assessments.


School Implements Parent Outreach Activities

One of our goals is to have parents visit and interact with the school at least two additional times beyond Parent Teacher Conferences. It is also important to accommodate parent schedules before during or beyond the school day. Opportunities included: *Student led grade level activities *Monthly Parent Teacher Organization Meetings *Monthly School Community Council Meetings *Monthly Family Nights *School-wide programs (Music, Talent Show, etc) *Field Day *Talent Show/Family Bar-B-Que *Muffins with Moms *Donuts with Dads *Million Father March *Grandparents Day (Twice a Year) *Opportunities to volunteer daily *Parent Conferences *Various means of communication *Administrators have an “Open Door Policy”
