Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

Schoolwide Implementation of Performance Results

Ensign Elementary is a school that focuses on the whole student. We are systemically working to develop learners who exhibit the following characteristics: Self Directed Learner Cooperative Group Participant and Leader Quality Worker and Producer Effective Communicator Complex Thinker and Problem Solver Contributor to My Community As a school we review our Performance Results on a daily basis, reflect on them monthly, and focus on being successful daily on one simple skill related to the Performance Results. This helps students understand how these traits will help them develop into adults who listen to each other, think critically about problems, and are positive members of their community.

Community Engagement at Ensign Elementary

At Ensign Elementary we have a very active community. Our PTA meets monthly, holds at least four community events after hours each year, and funds aspects of our Arts programs. We have a School Community Council filled with engaged parents who make a difference in our school by looking at the whole school when making recommendations and uses their knowledge of education to best support our students. We work together to find solutions to problems and advocate for all children no matter what their needs may be. Our entire community is focused on student success not just in academics but in their future personal lives and careers.
