OPEN CLASSROOM

SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

PARENT & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

ParentsEngagethroughCo-OpOpportunties

Our parents are highly engaged in the success of every student at Open Classroom. Parents support the school by being actively involved through parent co-op opportunities. Each day multiple parents are in every classroom to assist with small group instruction, art instruction, music instruction, extra recess supervision, and whatever else is needed within the classroom to help the students on that day. Parents sign up to help to provide consistent support which allows our students to see how the parents value their education and experience at Open Classroom. Parents also serve on multiple committees each year to provide several enrichment activities. They host a Walk-A-Thon, provide opportunities for field trips, specialized explorer opportunities which allow students to learn about topics they are interested in, and extend our arts offerings through these committees. Parents are invested in the success of all students at the Open Classroom and this is evident as you walk the halls and see the engagement and energy they bring.
