SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

INSTRUCTIONAL FACTORS

Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program

The BTS Program grants funds for our Art teacher to work alongside classroom teachers to develop lesson plans that reach our deeper learning and engineering results cycle (STEAM) goals in the core curricula that incorporate art. The grant provides ongoing professional development for the arts specialist and classroom teachers. This provides opportunities for the teachers to reach students various multiple intelligences while learning curriculum.

Deeper Learning Integration or STEAM

Teachers strive to incorporate deeper learning cycles into their daily instruction. Our goal is to "cross cut" the curriculum or integrate multiple subject areas into learning cycles. One of our focuses is to integrate the Engineering Cycle: Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, and Ask into problem based learning.
