SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

INSTRUCTIONAL FACTORS

Instructional Leadership Team

In the fall of 2020, West High formed an instructional leaders’ team, compromised of teacher representatives and members of the administration. This team will lead in the development and implementation of a school-wide instructional goal and focus. They will also lead in typical department tasks such as, but not limited to, leading PLC meetings, instructional resources, supplies, collegial support, etc. They will also work with administrators to support the department. The focus this year will be blended learning at West. Teachers will need support in online instruction using Canvas and facilitating quality instruction in a remote and blended format. By the end of this school year, the team will have drafted a West High School instructional goal that includes the learning of all students. Beginning next school year, 2022, this team will help frame the school vision based on the collaborative work done in the 2021 year. They will continuously support the faculty in building a positive school culture of support and the learning of all students. Each month will have a focus. This focus will be identified though needs of the school. These needs will be selected from PLC feedback provided to the Instructional Leader and shared with the entire Instructional Leadership Team. A focus will be addressed through supports needed to the faculty to improve instruction for all students.
