Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

Welcoming Dual Language Immersion School

We are a DLI school. Classes are taught in both Spanish and English. We infuse various cultures into our teaching and build relationships with families and students to ensure all students feel welcome, included and safe. Teachers spend the summer preparing and training for DLI instructing by attending professional development with USBE. We celebrate diversity at Mary W. Jackson! In addition to promoting dual languages, we encourage students to be themselves and accept everyone. We are also implementing the Welcoming Schools program with a particular focus on the LGBTQ community.
